About the Role

We are seeking an experienced back-end .NET developer to join our engineering team on a six-month contract to develop the server-side architecture and APIs for a modern social application. You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend services that support a secure, high-performance mobile platform.

Working closely with our Flutter developers, UX/UI designers, and product team, you will develop robust APIs, manage data persistence, implement authentication and security, and ensure the platform is capable of supporting a growing user base. This is a fully remote role suited to an experienced developer who enjoys building cloud-native applications using Microsoft technologies.

Technical Stack: C#, .NET 6 / .NET 8, ASP.NET Core Web API, Entity Framework Core, SQL Server, Azure, REST APIs, Swagger/OpenAPI, SignalR, Redis, Docker, Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using C# and .NET.
• Build secure RESTful APIs consumed by Flutter mobile applications.
• Design and optimize relational database structures and queries.
• Implement authentication, authorization, and user management services.
• Develop backend functionality supporting social platform features, including user accounts and profiles, social feeds, comments and reactions, follow/friend relationships, messaging services, notifications, media management, and search functionality.
• Integrate with third-party APIs and cloud services.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Write automated unit and integration tests.
• Participate in architecture discussions, sprint planning, and code reviews.
• Produce clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Support deployment activities and production issue resolution.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 5 years of commercial software development experience.
• Strong experience developing applications using C# and .NET (.NET 6 / .NET 8 preferred).
• Extensive experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
• Strong understanding of microservices and service-oriented architecture principles.
• Experience working with Entity Framework Core.
• Strong SQL skills with Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience implementing authentication and security using JWT, OAuth 2.0, and OpenID Connect.
• Experience integrating with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with asynchronous programming and high-performance backend services.
• Strong understanding of API versioning and documentation using Swagger/OpenAPI.
• Experience using Git in collaborative development environments.
• Strong debugging and performance optimization skills.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Passionate about building scalable backend systems, highly organized with strong attention to detail, and comfortable working independently in a fully remote environment.
• A collaborative team player who communicates effectively across technical and non-technical teams, is proactive in identifying and solving technical challenges, and is focused on delivering secure, reliable, and maintainable software.
