MID Backend API Developer | Remote | B2B Contract | March – June 2026 (ref. #007)

We're looking for a Mid backend API developer to join the OMEGA order-to-cash case management and orchestration platform team. You'll contribute to backend development, integrations, and platform reliability while working under guidance from senior engineers within a Scaled Agile delivery model. This is a great opportunity for a mid-level developer comfortable working within an existing codebase and eager to grow. Start date: ASAP.

What you'll do:

• Develop and maintain backend services using Python
• Implement and support API endpoints using FastAPI or similar frameworks
• Write and maintain automated tests using Pytest
• Support database development, including queries, schemas, and migrations
• Assist with event-driven components and message-based integrations
• Contribute to containerized development using Docker
• Support deployments and runtime operations in Kubernetes environments
• Participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and standups
• Track work items and progress using Jira
• Collaborate with backend, frontend, and integration teams, including SAP touchpoints
• Being able to work within US time zone

What we're looking for:

• 3–5 years of backend development experience in Python or equivalent project experience
• Working proficiency with FastAPI or a similar Python web framework
• Testing discipline using Pytest
• Experience with SQLAlchemy or another ORM and PostgreSQL
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and REST API design
• Comfortable with Git, GitHub, and Docker basics
• Ability to work within an existing codebase, learn established patterns, and follow team conventions
• Experience working in Agile environments with Jira
• English at B2+ level — collaboration with distributed, cross-functional teams

Nice to have:

• Basic understanding of Microservices Architecture and Event-Driven Architecture
• Basic exposure to Azure, Azure Event Hub, or Kubernetes
• Familiarity with GitHub Actions and CI/CD concepts
• Experience with Python tooling: UV, Poetry, PIP
• Familiarity with Alembic for database migrations
• Exposure to Scaled Agile (SAFe) delivery or SAP integration touchpoints
