Position Details: (Voltron #003) SQL Server / MySQL Database Administrator

SQL Server & MySQL Database Administrator | Remote (India) | B2B Contract (ref. #003)

We're looking for a database administrator to support the Voltron data platforms, ensuring availability, performance, and operational stability of SQL Server (T-SQL) and MySQL databases across production and non-production environments. You'll work within a 24/7 support model aligned to defined SLAs, collaborating with application, Azure, and data engineering teams. We're hiring across two seniority bands—mid-level (3–5 years) and senior (5–10 years).

What you'll do:

• Perform day-to-day administration of SQL Server and MySQL databases across production and non-production environments
• Execute database patching, upgrades, backups, restores, and refreshes according to established procedures
• Monitor database health, performance, storage, and availability proactively
• Troubleshoot incidents and service requests within defined SLAs
• Support planned changes and releases following change management processes
• Maintain operational documentation and runbooks to ensure team continuity
• Collaborate with application, Azure, and data engineering teams during incidents and escalations

What we're looking for:

• 3–5 years (mid-level) or 5–10 years (senior) of professional experience in database administration
• Solid hands-on experience with SQL Server (TSQL) administration
• Solid hands-on experience with MySQL administration
• Proven knowledge of backup and recovery strategies in production environments
• Experience with performance monitoring and tuning
• Familiarity with incident and change management processes (ITIL-aligned)
• Track record of supporting production environments with SLA accountability
• Strong English communication — collaboration with cross-functional and distributed teams

Nice to have:

• Experience with Azure SQL or Azure SQL VM
• Familiarity with basic Azure monitoring tools
• Scripting skills in PowerShell or Bash
• Exposure to data pipelines or reporting platforms
